A-OK Starter Plugs for starting seeds and rooting of cuttings prior to plugging into the larger Gro-Blocks. A sheet of A-OK plugs fits a standard 10 x 20 propagation tray (flat).

The 1.5″ size work perfectly in the Gro-Smart tray. The advantage of the Gro-Smart tray is it elevates the plugs above the waterline and ensures good airflow around the plugs. A-OK plugs come labeled with instructions in a shrink-wrapped sheet that fits a standard 10 x 20 tray (flat). The 1.5″ A-OK fits the opening in all our Grodan Gro-blocks perfectly.

Grodan A-OK plugs are designed for seed and cutting propagation prior to “blocking on” into larger growing blocks. The V-shape design of the plug discourages tangling of roots between the plugs in the A’OK plug sheet.

Grodan Rockwool Cubes are great for rooting cuttings or germinating seeds. We recommend soaking them in pH 5.5 water before planting up with seeds or clones. Keep them under a dome to retain moisture and mist if necessary. From here, you can transplant into any growing medium, soil or hydro.

Grodan Stonewool (rockwool) is made from molten rock spun into cotton candy-like fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs. Where other rockwool brand manufacturers cut all sizes from one batch of wool, Grodan is unique by making different types of fibers. The purpose is to support the requirement of the plant in the different plant stages. Grodan has a tremendous capacity for absorbing nutrient solution while retaining plenty of oxygen for rapid plant growth. Grodan comes in graduated sizes. Seedlings started in cubes are easily transferred to blocks and then onto slabs, if desired. Seedlings or cuttings started in the Grodan cubes can also be transplanted into more traditional planters and growing mediums.
